We are saved by grace alone

Some folks claim that the Catholic Church teaches that we are saved by our own works. This is a false claim, as the Catechism makes clear:

Everyone who glorifies the Father does so through the Son in the Holy Spirit; everyone who follows Christ does so because the Father draws him and the Spirit moves him. [§259]

If the Father draws us to Himself, we do not pull ourselves up to Him. If the Spirit moves us, we do not move ourselves. We are saved by grace alone.
